Contributor Information

Tool Details
- Tool name: Raf-1FF/FF knockin mouse
- Tool type: Experimental models
- Tool sub-type: Mouse
- Disease: Cancer; Apoptosis
- Model: Knock-In
- Cell signalling pathway: Ras/Raf signalling
- Genetic background and cross history: A Raf-1 targeting vector, encoding Raf-1 with a substitution at residues 340 (Y to F) and 341 (Y to F), and a loxP flanked resistance cassette, was transfected into 129Ola ES cells. Properly targeted ES cells containing a homologous recombination event were selected, and transfected with a Cre expressing vector to excise the resistance cassette. Targeted ES cells were then injected into C57BL/6 blastocysts. Chimeric offspring were bred with C57BL/6 mice to yield mice heterozygous for the mutant allele.
- Strain: C57BL/6
- Description: A knockin of inactive Raf-1FF/FF mutant; can be use for in vivo study of inactive Raf-1 mutant, and Ras signalling;
- Research area: Cancer; Cell signaling and signal transduction; Genetics; Neurobiology
