Tool Details
- Tool name: SAR-22-019F mouse line
- Tool type: Mouse
- Cancer type: Carcinoma
- Disease: Liver
- Model: Transgenic
- CRISPR: No
- Application: qPCR, western blotting, IHC, and single-cell RNA-seq
- Genetic background and cross history: This Alb/MDA-9 transgenic mouse line in B6CBAF1 background was generated by directing the expression of C-terminal HA-tagged human MDA-9/SDCBP under an upstream enhancer region (–10400 to –8500) fused to the 335-bp core region of mouse albumin promoter.
- Phenotype: Higher tumor burden in livers , increased levels of serum liver enzymes, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in Alb/MDA-9 mice after 32 weeks
- Strain: B6CBAF1
-
Description: Transgenic mouse with hepatocyte-specific overexpression of MDA-9 (Alb/MDA-9). Alb/MDA-9 allows analysis of the role of MDA-9 in HCC development and progression.
Alb/MDA-9 allows analysis of the molecular mechanism by which MDA-9 promotes HCC. This mouse line will also be useful in analyzing the role of MDA-9 in other liver diseases such as fibrosis. Findings identify a novel role of MDA-9/SDCBP in hepatocarcinogenesis thereby establishing the rationale for using MDA-9 inhibitors for the treatment of HCC. Key words: MDA-9/SDCBP; HCC; SPP1; NF-?B; ILK; macrophage - Research area: Cancer
