Tool Details

  • Tool name: Jagged1 Floxed Mouse
  • Tool type: Experimental models
  • Tool sub-type: Mouse
  • Disease: Cancer; Autoimmune disease
  • Model: Knock-Out
  • Conditional: Yes
  • Conditional description: Jag1 gene with loxP sites flanking exons 4 & 5 enabling conditional Cre-mediate knockout.
  • Genetic background and cross history: A Jag1 targeting vector, containing a loxP flanked resistance cassette before exon 4 and a loxP site inserted after exon 5, was transfected into 129 ES cells. Properly targeted ES cells containing a homologous recombination event were transfected with a Cre expression vector to excise the resistance cassette, and injected into a C57BL6 blastocyst. Chimeric offspring were mated on a C57BL6 background.
  • Phenotype:
  • Zygosity: Heterozygous
  • Description: Conditional knockout of Jag1; in vivo studies of tissue-specific Jag1 knockout and Notch signalling
  • Research area: Tissue-specific biology; Cell signaling and signal transduction; Genetics; Neurobiology
