- Description: IFN-? is a key cytokine involved in Th1 immune responses. It is mainly produced by T cells and NK cells, and drives both innate and adaptive immunity systems that promote protection against intracellular infections. IFN-? is involved in activation of macrophages and T helper lymphocytes, stimulation of antigen presentation, control of cell proliferation and apoptosis, induction of antiviral state, immunomodulation, inflammation and leucocyte trafficking. IFN-? is one of the most important cytokines in both innate and adaptive immune responses; therefore accurate assessment of IFN-? levels is of critical importance in evaluating the status of the immune system. An IFN-? antibody would be particularly useful in examining immune responses in fish to infectious agents and in the development of protective responses after vaccination.
- Immunogen: Ovalbumin-conjugated synthetic peptide. Peptide immunogen is conserved in salmonids fish species.
