  • Description: The Sox genes are a family of genes related to the mammalian sex determining gene ex-determining region Y protein (SRY). SOX genes genes similarly contain sequences that encode for the HMG-box domain, which is responsible for the sequence-specific DNA binding activity. Sox genes encode putative transcriptional regulators which have been implicated in the process of development and cell fate. At present 30 Sox genes have been identified and members of the family are conserved during evolution. Transcription factor SOX9 recognizes the sequence "CCTTGAG" as do other members of the high mobility group-box class DNA-binding proteins.
  • Immunogen: Synthetic Human SOX9 peptide
  • Research area: Cell signaling and signal transduction

  • For Research Use Only
