  • Description: Non-tumorigenic immortalized breast epithelial cell stably overexpressing mutant cancer-related genes. PIK3CA (phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase, catalytic subunit alpha). PIK3CA belongs to the gene family of phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase (PI3K), important regulating factor of signaling cascade, is known to cause various biological activities such as cell differentiation, proliferation, metabolism, cell migration and reconstruction of the cell skeleton through downstream molecules. Mutations of the PIK3CA gene are frequently found in glioblastoma, and colorectal, stomach and breast cancer. Most of the mutations are known to be concentrated in the 2 region called hot spot (Exon9 and Exon20) in the helix or the kinase domain of PI3K.
