- Description: Non-tumorigenic immortalized breast epithelial cell stably overexpressing mutant cancer-related genes. NRAS (neuroblastoma RAS viral (v-ras) oncogene homolog). A cancer gene that belongs to the low-molecule GTPase called the RAS family. It is thought to play an essential role in the MAPK signaling pathway like KRAS, a representative of the RAS family. While the mutation of KRAS is frequently found in bowel cancer (approx. 30%), the frequency of NRAS's mutation in bowel cancer is approximately 4% and it is known to be found more often in skin tumors (approx. 19%) and blood tumors such as leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome (approx. 12%). Mutation of Q61 and G12 are known as somatic cell mutations that are often found in cancer.
