Tool Details
- Tool name: CHO DC-SIGN WT cell line
- Alternate names: DC-SIGN
- Tool type: Cell Lines
- Parental cell line: CHO
- Organism: Hamster
- Tissue: Ovary
- Disease: HIV-1; Ebola Virus; Hepatitis C virus
- Conditional: No
- Description: Dendritic Cell-Specific ICAM-3-Grabbing Non-Integrin (DC-SIGN; CD209) is a type II plasma membrane PRR abundantly expressed in antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells (DCs) and activated macrophages. As member of the C-type Lectin Receptor (CLR) family, DC-SIGN binds a plethora of pathogens, ranging from viruses like HIV-1, ebola virus, and hepatitis C virus, to larger pathogens like Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Candida albicans.
- Research area: Cell signaling and signal transduction; Immunology
- Production details: CHO cell lines stably expressing DC-SIGN wild-type were established by Lipofectamin 2000 transfection, and were cultured in HamÄË?Â?Âs F-12 medium supplemented with 10% heat-inactivated FBS, 1% Antibiotic Antimycotic Solution , and 0.5ÄË?Â?Âmg/ml of the aminoglycoside antibiotic G418.
