Tool Details

  • Tool name: Anti-Maspin [16F7]
  • Alternate names: Anti-SERPINB5
  • Clone: 16F7
  • Tool type: Antibodies
  • Tool sub-type: Primary antibodies
  • Class: Monoclonal
  • Reactivity: Human
  • Host: Mouse
  • Cancer type: Breast cancer; Genitourinary cancer
  • Molecular weight of the target: 42 kDa
  • Application: WB, IF, IP, IHC
  • Description: Maspin is a SERPIN family protein and has been associated with the inhibition of tumor growth and invasion. As of yet, the function of Maspin is unclear. This mouse monoclonal antibody recognizes human Maspin protein in its native and denatured forms, compared to other commercially available antibodies which do not recognize Maspin's denatured form. This antibody can be used in a more expansive range of analytical techniques to study its function and may be helpful in identifying other proteins interacting with Maspin.
  • Immunogen: full length recombinant Maspin
  • Isotype: IgG2a
  • Research area: Cancer

  • For Research Use Only

Target Details

  • Target: SERPINB5, Maspin
  • Target alternate names: SERPINB5, serpin family B member 5, PI5, Serpin B5, PI-5, maspin peptidase inhibitor 5, protease inhibitor 5
  • Target molecular weight: 42 kDa
  • Target background: Maspin is a member of the serine protease inhibitor family (Serpins) and is encoded by SERPINB4. It is a 42 kDa, non-inhibitory protein. It is proposed as a tumor suppressor gene and has been suggested to inhibit tumor growth and migration, although this is controversial. Maspin expression has been found to correlate with prognosis for breast and prostate cancers.
