Tool Details

  • Tool name: Anti-ORF45 [ORF45]
  • Tool type: Antibodies
  • Tool sub-type: Primary antibody
  • Class: Monoclonal
  • Conjugate: Unconjugated
  • Reactivity: Other Species
  • Host: Mouse
  • Application: IP ; WB
  • Description: Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) has been identified as the causative agent of Kaposi's sarcoma, the most common malignancy in HIV-infected individuals. KSHV has also been shown to be be associated with two lymphoproliferative diseases (Fu et al., 2015). ORF45 (tegument) is a gene associated with the lytic viral life cycle of KSHV and has been shown to have multiple functions throughout the viral life cycle. ORF45 is a crucial component of progeny virion production in conjunction with ORF33. ORF45 binds to and stabilizes ORF33. This anti-ORF45 has been shown to purify different populations of ORF45 as well as enable the targeted depletion or enrichment of subpopulations of ORF45. This anti-ORF45 was generated using a baculovirus-synthesized ORF45 as an antigen.
  • Immunogen: A baculovirus-synthesized ORF45 protein was used as an antigen
  • Isotype: IgG
  • Research area: Genetics; Microbiology
