Tool Details

  • Tool name: Anti-Estradiol-17-beta [S16] rAb
  • Alternate names: Oestradiol, E2
  • Clone: S16
  • Tool type: Antibodies
  • Tool sub-type: Primary Antibody
  • Class: Recombinant
  • Conjugate: Unconjugated
  • Reactivity: Human
  • Molecular weight of the target: 145668.74 kDa
  • Application: ELISA ; IF ; IP
  • Description: Anti-Estradiol-17-beta [S16] is a high-affinity recombinant antibody specific to oestradiol (E2). E2 is the most potent of the naturally occurring oestrogenic hormones. Detection of circulatory E2 has many uses in various clinical applications.

The use of this antibody alongside the anti-estradiol-immunocomplex antibody makes up the basis for an E2 assay which addresses the low circulatory levels of E2 within blood samples (the cause of failure for many similar competitive immunoassays).

This recombinant antibody aids in extracting clinical relevant information from circulatory E2 levels, for example during aromatase inhibitor therapy for breast cancer.

Please note, if this reagent will be used in a non-competitive immunoassay then you may require a license to the following patent rights which are held by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland (US7749712B2; EP1579222B1, EP1579222B8, BRPI0316384B1, CN1711476B, JP4729701B2, NO338417B1, ZA200503475B).

Target Details

  • Target: Estradiol-12-beta
  • Target molecular weight: 145668.74 kDa
  • Target background: Estradiol is an oestrogen steroid hormone and the major female sex hormone. It is involved in the regulation of the estrous and menstrual female reproductive cycles. With age and in the case of pathologies such as ovarian failure and following surgical removal of the oavries, levels of estradiol can fall. This results in symptoms such as osteoporosis, vaginal changes, changes to the skin and hot flushes. Recombinant anti-estradiol immunocomplex antibody, clone [C6], binds to the immunocomplex of the anti- Estradiol-17-beta antibody clone [S16] and Estradiol-17-beta. For use in the detection of estradiol in low levels.
