Sufu is ubiquitous in adult tissues. Heterozygous loss of Sufu, in conjunction with the loss of p53, leads to the development of medulloblastoma and rhabdomyosarcoma. Somatic Sufu mutations have been identified in multiple other malignancies, including prostate cancer.
